About the Area

Colonial Forge High School is located in Stafford County and is part of the historic Fredericksburg, Virginia area. Stafford was the boyhood home of George Washington and the area is famous for its colonial, Revolutionary, and Civil War period history. Stafford offers wineries, dining, theater, museums, and shopping. Within a few miles of the high school are hotels, restaurants, and great shopping at Stafford Marketplace, Spotsylvania Towne Centre, Central Park, and downtown Fredericksburg. Just 25 minutes up I-95 is the National Museum of the Marine Corps, where “world-class interactive exhibits using the most innovative technology surround visitors with irreplaceable artifacts and immerse them in the sights and sounds of Marines in action.” Admission to the museum is free.
